Hi,

Some of you may face situations to install Win XP from a USB pendrive. The installation of XP from a USB drive is not an easy task.Just copying the installation and booting files to the pendrive may not help you to Boot and install XP from a pendrive.
First you need the Support of BIOS to boot from the pendrive. The older motherbord's BIOS may not have options to do this.An updating of BIOS will fix this problem. The newer BIOS have this option built in.
Then you need a good quality pendrive. When i'm used a woring sandisk cruzer 2GB drive the installation has failed several times.I don't know the reason for this. But when i'm used another one ,it was successfull at the first attempt itself.
Then you need a program called USB multi boot. You can get it from here.It is a wonderfull utilty helps you to install XP from a USB.I tried several other utiltiiees and failed. But this one helped me very much.Thanx to the authers.
Download the above program and extract to a folder.
Place an XP CD on the drive.
Put a pendrive to the system.

Then follow these steps:

Run the usb_multiboot_10.cmd file.
Presss any key to contine.
Select the formatting option. Then the program will format the pendrive.Leave the formatting options on the programs unchnged if you hav no idea what to do..

After formatting completed a new menu appers with several options.
Set options 1 and 2.Choose the pendrive location and the XP CD drive.
Choose 3 after setting the 1 and 2.Answer yes to all the ques appering on the way. You have options to do un attended installation also.

After successfully finishes the copying , remove the drive.
Reboot the system needed to install XP. When starting up,press appropriate key to change the boot order.
Select the USB drive as the first bootable device. The sytem will now boot form pendrive.Choose the option 1 [text installation] on the menu appears.
after the sytem reboot select the option 2[GUI installation].
Remove the drive only after you successfully logon to the system.
