The power of numpad

Hi frnds,


Do you know the power of ur Num Keys in ur Keyaboard?
It can reproduce hunderds of special charcters that not found in the keybords.

For eg. use: alt key and 1 in numpad to produce ☺. (alt+1)

XP sp 3 Released.

Microsoft Released Windows XP service Pack 3.


To improve the security,performance ,stability of PCs that running Windows XP, Microsoft Continuesly develops updates, fixes, and other improvements and make it downloaded through automatic updates and through their website. To make it easier for customers to get these updates and enhancements, Microsoft periodically combines them into a single package -Service Pack and makes that package available for all Windows customers.

Windows XP Service Pack 3 (SP3) includes all previously released Windows XP updates, including security updates and hotfixes. It also includes a small number of new enhancements such as the Microsoft® Management Console (MMC) 3.0 and the Microsoft Core XML Services 6.0 (MSXML6)., which do not significantly change customers’ experience with the operating system. For customers with existing Windows XP installations, Windows XP SP3 fills gaps in the updates they might have missed when using Windows Update.

XPusers can install SP3 on top of Windows XP SP1 or SP2 also you can run the SP3 update package on a computer running the Windows XP Media Center Edition with SP1.Tools and guidance for system administrators have not fundamentally changed from Windows XP SP2.

The service pack includes functionality previously released as updates, such as the Microsoft® Management Console (MMC) 3.0 and the Microsoft Core XML Services 6.0 (MSXML6).
Windows XP SP3 does not include Windows Internet Explorer 7, although Windows XP SP3 does include updates to both Internet Explorer 6 and Internet Explorer 7.
One of the major Changes in XP Installation is the Windows Product Activation- As in Windows Server 2003 SP2 and Windows Vista, users can now complete operating system installation without providing a product key during a full, integrated installation of Windows XP SP3. The operating system will prompt the user for a product key later as part of Genuine Advantage.

New and Enhanced Functionalities:
"Black Hole" Router Detection,Network Access Protection (NAP),Descriptive Security Options User Interface,Enhanced security for Administrator and Service policy entries,Microsoft Kernel Mode Cryptographic Module,Windows Product Activation- As in Windows Server 2003 SP2 and Windows Vista, users can now complete operating system installation without providing a product key during a full, integrated installation of Windows XP SP3. Apple released MAC OSX 10.5 -Leopard


Apple released MAC OSX 10.5 -Leopard.Mac OS X 10.5 -Leopard is Apple's first major operating system upgrade since Tiger more than two years ago. The changes include more than 300 new features.It provides a better user experience than the tiger OS and It has an enhanced file seaching speed than Vista.
To run Leopard, you'll need an Intel or PowerPC G5 Mac. The Minimum Requirement is A PowerPC-based G4 Mac with an 867MHz or better processor . Apple suggests having 512MB of RAM. An Intel Core 2 DUO processor with 2 GB RAM is great to Run OS X.

LINUX -Basics

Linux is an operating system that was initially created as a hobby by a young student, Linus Torvalds, at the University of Helsinki in Finland.He began his work in 1991 when he released version 0.02 and worked steadily until 1994 when version 1.0 of the Linux Kernel was released. The kernel, at the heart of all Linux systems, is developed and released under the GNU General Public License and its source code is freely available to everyone. It is this kernel that forms the base around which a Linux operating system is developed. There are now literally hundreds of companies and organizations and an equal number of individuals that have released their own versions of operating systems based on the Linux kernel.

Linux Can be Run along with windows.With Dual booting enabled u can Boot both O.S s.

General Way Of installtion:

1. Write the Image file to a Bootable DVD or CDs.
2. If you want to run a "dual-boot" system (Linux and DOS or Windows or both), rearrange(repartition) your disk to make room for Linux.
3. Restart the s/m and enter to the BIOS.Change the settings in the BIOS and check DVD/CD-ROM is checked first to Enble it as Bootable Device. This is available under BOOT menu.Then insert the installation CD-ROM. Reboot
4. After boot, all current Linuxes run a screen-oriented installation program which tries to interactively walk you through these steps, giving lots of help.
You will probably get the option to try to configure X right away so the installation program can go graphical. If you choose this route, the installation program will quiz you about your mouse and monitor type before getting to the installation proper.
6. Follow the Instruction given in the Screen.
7. Select the Partitioned space in ur Hdd for installation.Foramt in the linux F.S.
8. Follow the Instructions
9. LILO (which stands for LInux LOader) Or GRUB is a program that will allow you to boot Linux (as well as other operating systems, such as MS-DOS) from your hard drive.
You may be given the option of installing LILO on your hard drive.
Once you get your production Linux installed, these settings will be saved for you. You will be able to tune your monitor's performance later, so at this stage it makes sense to settle for a basic 640x480 SVGA mode.

10. Dont Forget the Root[admin] ,User passwords .
